Golden Gate Kennel Club Show

January 2007, Hummer went Winner's Dog for his first points of the year at the Golden Gate Kennel Club show which is held every year at the Cow Palace in So. San Francisco. Exactly one year later this weekend, we are once again headed for the Cow Palace for two days of a benched show. The dogs are required to stay on the bench when not in the show ring so that the public can see them up close and learn about the different breeds. Hummer will compete against a large group of very distinguished Newfoundlands for Best of Breed including his sire, Ch Sadie Cymryd Nana At Y Pen, also known as Gaia, and Ch Karazan's Meet the Press, Preston, a multi BOB and BISS winner. Hummer is also looking forward to benching with his buddies Karazan's Satchel, and Andrew and Axl, who will compete this year for Winner's Dog. Wishing all the best of luck to all the Karazan dogs this year at the Cow Palace!

Owner/Handler/Mom

In my show career, I have enjoyed the company of several handlers; the expert  Larry Fenner and his daughter Elizabeth Jordan-Nelson, also winning my first Major at the So Cal Specialty with the beautiful Miss Erin Piercy, and another with her friend Kelly Hackler. Jeff Heim, looking as cool as ever in the sweltering heat of over 100 degrees, helped to finish my Championship with the two Majors in Grass Valley. But my favorite is Claire, my Mom, who is always there for me.

AKC Champion in 9 months

In 2007 from January to September, I earned my AKC Championship with 4 Majors, one at the Southern California Newfoundland Specialty in Del Mar, one in Antioch, California, and two back-to-back in Grass Valley, California. This was all accomplished through the expertise of my breeders, owners, handlers and friends who supported me. I can only hope to thank everyone by winning the Best of Breed title and become one of the top Newfoundlands in the country.
